Sal's Birds is a classic! When it comes to regional American cuisine, It doesn't get much better than this. They should put Sal's on the Food Network.
Attending the University of Rochester from 1975-79, Sal's on Scottsville Rd was our staple for good, affordable, late night dining. Several times, Sal set up a tent on campus for charity fund raising. I even made a TV commercial for Sal on the local station.
For me, the only sauce is the hot Sassy Sauce, that's what I remember. Besides the "Bird" (half chicken dinner with macaroni salad), my favorite was gizzards.
Thanks for coming out with the gallons. I'll be ordering for my next party.
